MEET THE TEAM
FOUNDER
Jake Luhrs

My name is Jake Luhrs, I am the founder of The YourLife Gym. I started a mental health non-profit called HeartSupport in 2011, which is an online community to help engage people with their mental health challenges. I had the idea of connecting physical and mental health during the pandemic, and opened The YourLife Gym in November 2020.
I have been the vocalist of a Lancaster based, twice Grammy nominated metal band called August Burns Red for almost 20 years. When I am not touring, I like to spend time working out, playing airsoft, watching hockey or hanging out with my family.
Exercise has been a great help for my mental health and longevity in being able to achieve goals for my life: performing on stage, playing airsoft or ice hockey, and a newly driven passion to learn Jiu Jitsu!
The gym has always been my “therapy” as it gives me a place to spend time decompressing from life’s ups and downs, to put myself as a priority and commit to an act of self-care. I genuinely feel better after working out, and have made some lifelong friends there.
I’ve toured the world going to different gyms and wanted to create a space where people could be themselves, and grow at their own pace within a clean and healthy environment. The goal for this gym is to give people the tools, resources and community to help transform their mental and physical health!
FITNESS DIRECTOR
Courtney

I'm Courtney, the Fitness Director here at YourLife. I was an athlete my whole life - I played basketball and soccer in high school and college, which converted to competing in Spartan Races in my adult life.
I thrive in leadership roles and a team environment, so it's no surprise to me that I have been in Fitness Management for over 10 years!
During that time I have helped open 4 fitness facilities, have worked all positions from personal trainer to regional management, and have been a leading role in helping people achieve their fitness and nutrition goals.
I'm a firm believer that physical & mental health go hand-in-hand. To find a facility that puts an emphasis on not only the physical, but mental, is a dream come true.
Being a part of The YourLife team has me living out that dream! And while I absolutely love my career, my favorite job is being a mom.
FACILITY MANAGER
Brittany

I'm Brittany, the Facility Director at YourLife, and have been a part of the gym since the beginning. I'm a former gymnast and a current bodybuilding competitor, and most importantly, mom and wife.
I got into fitness by chance when struggling with Postpartum Depression/Anxiety/PTSD, and it was then I made my personal connection on the importance of fitness and mental health.
As a mom who experienced that, my passion in fitness is to make a difference in other moms who may be experiencing or struggling with Postpartum/other mental health struggles.
I have always felt like my goal in life has always been to help others and make a difference, and within YourLife, I'm hopefully to make a difference in our clients lives!
ASSISTANT MANAGER
Ashley

I’m Ashley, an assistant manager here at YourLife. I was a ballet dancer for 14 years and also played basketball, volleyball, and ultimate frisbee! I always loved pushing myself physically, but struggled to find my style of working out until I came to YourLife 2 years ago.
I love people, and find it inspiring to see others striving to better themselves. I want to be a part of your journey, encouraging, supporting, and hyping you up, to find out how strong you truly are!
So if you need someone to encourage you through a set or give a pep talk at anytime… I got you!
LEAD TRAINER
Joel

I’m Joel, a cofounder and head trainer of The YourLife Gym. I moved to Pennsylvania from Charleston, SC to open the gym with Jake in 2020.
I have a background in anthropological studies, I am a 2010 graduate of Asbury University, and have been a NASM certified trainer for 12 years.
The life-changing discovery I would love you to make is that your beliefs construct the reality in which you live; if you want things to change, you might have to challenge what you believe.
My idea of a perfect day would include being found face down in a pile of aromatic food in Central Asia.
PERSONAL TRAINER
Nate

I’m Nate, a NASM certified personal trainer and a nutrition coach here at YourLife.
Physical health became a passion of mine after battling Lyme Disease and other complications for a decade, and mental health became huge for me after struggling with it significantly since I was a teen.
I spend most of my free time exercising, doing harsh vocals or other music projects, being outdoors (when it’s warm), and chilling with my gecko Lip.
When I joined YourLife in 2020, I was dealing with traumas and PTSD from recent events, and the gym quickly became a safe space for me. I felt welcomed, known, and supported. I’ve been a part of many gyms and none came even close to impacting me the way YourLife has.
This gym has changed my life and I’ve seen it have the same effect on many others at the gym time and time again. I love being part of our awesome community!
PERSONAL TRAINER
Kenzie

I'm Kenzie, NETA certified personal trainer, and in school for counseling. I'm an advocate for mental health and believe that it is just as important as physical health.
I come from a sports background and have always enjoyed doing anything active. I got into lifting outside of sports about 2 years ago, and have loved it ever since. I am so thankful that I came to YourLife, and get to be part of this amazing community.
I love helping people achieve their fitness goals and encouraging them towards their potential, to show them that they are capable of much more than they believe!
PERSONAL TRAINER
Calvin

I’m Calvin, originally from Detroit, MI. I am a NASM certified personal trainer and a group class coach here at YourLife. I am married, have 2 kids, and learning how to balance family and my own personal fitness goals.
I believe that fitness isn't just for some people, but for EVERYONE regardless of where you started, or how bad you may feel as if you've messed up. We all have a right to start fresh, and do it at a pace that works for our capabilities. Fitness goals are different for each person, and a cookie cutter approach just doesn't cut it.
I get a great sense of joy seeing our clients experience their own personal strength, and surpassing the ceilings they either set for themselves, or have been set on them by others.
There's room for growth for anyone who's willing to learn and unlearn simultaneously. I Hope to Keep the "Personal" in Personal Training, while helping my clients make the absolute most of their time with us.
Also, I Love Food.

In my free time I am passionate about playing and watching ice hockey, skateboarding and playing guitar. Meet me at the front desk or at a Flyers game!
